A High Climber

The exposure was biased 2/3 stop brighter for this capture because of the bright sky behind the cat. Despite that, the cat had need to be brightened further in post.

The Drinking Buddy

The Bush Lily was said to be a drinking buddy simply because it could apparently be fertilized with diluted beer. “The elements in beer, especially carbon dioxide, protein, and sugar produced while fermenting grains, will make the plant thrive during blooming season.” – CGTN

No Bananas

This plant is apparently closely related to bananas but it won’t produce any bananas.

After having photographed single blooms before, we had been wanting to get at least a couple of them in the same frame. Happily for us though, more have been blooming recently. Although they were quite far apart, this was at least one of the desired views.

Highlights were pulled back in post so that textures on the wing of this butterfly could be more clearly seen.

This and its fellows were snacking on the canopy of the tree just in front of our shelter. They provided a nice distraction as we waited out the passing rain.

The exposure for this capture was biased 2 stops brighter to bring out the colours of the bird against the cloudy sky.

Touchdown

The original background was a drab green and I thought it didn’t go too well with the heliconia. So in post, that was replaced with the present colour.

Jewels Of The Vineyard

Can’t imagine that these were bare stems just a few weeks back. Then the fruits came first and followed a bit later by the leaves and flowers.

At ISO 2000, the Olympus produced noise level at a little over 6 at this small image size. This was fixed easily enough in post.
