The out-of-camera original had the background a little too bright trying to make sure that the squirrel was well lit.
So in post, the lower portion of the image with the squirrel in it was separately brightened up while exposure for the background was rendered darker. Mid-tones for the whole image were then darkened further a little. This was all done with the DNG raw file.
This image was converted from the DNG raw and cropped a little in post so that things won’t look too small.
This was captured on the level of the pews. It would seem to be the same view that one gets when seated in there.
Actually, it wasn’t this great. It was a typical drab wintry day. The image had had its saturation adjusted in post.
