A Little Foretaste

This was taken from across the lake just less than five minutes before the sky opened up. Fortunately before that, the lady had made the decision to get off the boardwalk and headed towards the Supertree Grove and cover.

Grey’s Adventure In The Park

The out-of-camera original had the background a little too bright trying to make sure that the squirrel was well lit.

So in post, the lower portion of the image with the squirrel in it was separately brightened up while exposure for the background was rendered darker. Mid-tones for the whole image were then darkened further a little. This was all done with the DNG raw file.

Dancing On The Wall

The wall in the original capture was still a white sheet despite having underexposed the capture by a stop. So in post, the wall was separately darkened to bring out its actual condition.

Happy Day Out

Was preparing to photograph the stall when these folks had unexpectedly walked into the frame. Anyway, I couldn’t be happier to have them in the image and, thankfully, their postures couldn’t be better than what I would’ve asked for. This small latter detail could apparently sometimes make or break the image. It’s the reason I usually like to shoot short burst when it involves moving folks in street photography.

In The Eye of A Fish

A diagonal fish-eye lens was used in this 2012 shot. Despite using a sturdy tripod, some shake were still visible at 100 percent view. This was probably due to shutter shock which thing the older Panasonic cameras, such as the GX1 used here, were quite prone to. Thankfully, things looked fine at this size.

This image was converted from the DNG raw and cropped a little in post so that things won’t look too small.
