Whites could easily clip in the sun so the exposure was biased 2 stops darker for this capture. Greens and yellows were toned down a bit in post as the shrubs were getting too much attention. And then the ground was separately darkened a little as it was rather bright because of the sun.

Greening The Neighbourhood

This was taken with the camera held nearly on the ground. Such a vehicle would perhaps appear more at home in the rural outback than an urban neighbourhood so Nell had tried including some bit of the clay-clogged ground here.

There is in fact no such terrain for an off-roader to play in the botanic gardens here. Nell had actually tilted the camera when capturing this Suzuki Jimny and the angle did indeed give me the impression of the vehicle hurtling down a steep slope. Nell used 1-1/3 stops of negative exposure compensation to preserve highlights during capture and the shadows were then pulled up in post. Motion blur was also added in post.

Image out of the Panasonic Lumix LC-1, one that I had liked to use until both that I owned died on me. This image was converted to monochrome in post with the dark and mid-tones tweaked to get this final effect.
