The sky was originally just a distracting patch of white. This was replaced with colour in post.
This was recorded on a 2006 four thirds sensor and underexposed by a stop to keep sky details. In raw conversion, shadows were pulled back up, highlights pulled down and ‘vibrance’ was increased. In post, cyans and blues were intensified for the sake of the sky.

The light was failing fast and shutter speed was already down to only 1/125 second at ISO5000 for this shot. Thankfully, the moving rider was still sharp.

This was captured with a stop of underexposure to keep sky details. In post, the sky was further darkened and contrast was then tweaked for the whole image.
